I've written and rewritten a post about four times already. I just can't find the right words to express what I want to express. So I will sum it up like this: I dislike society and all of its stupidity. Not society as a people, but society as the set of rules "they" want you to live by. I hate it. It is frustrating. And I hate being told I have to fit into someone's cookie cutter ideologies in order to get anywhere. What I would like to tell the whole corporate world - relax. And take some fashion advice from Steve Jobs, and let the women dress like that too.
*This blog post is a result of some people basically telling me I have failed at my past job interviews by dressing in dress slacks, pretty shoes with a slight heel, a nice blouse, and no make-up. Apparently I am supposed to jump through hoops of fire while wearing professionally done make-up, high heeled shoes with pantyhose and a skirt with a fitted blouse. I hate it because I don't look good in any of it. Frankly I don't look good in anything right now because of my weight. I hate it and am working on losing weight. But right now is right now. I can't change in five minutes. I hate the clown show one has to go through to get anywhere in the corporate world.
That's my two cents.

Hey, I never wore heels, panty hose or a skirt to any of my interviews. It's less about what you wear and more about how you present YOU. Wear the dress slacks, nice shoes and blouse. Have confidence in YOU, that you're the right person for the job. You're dedicated, determined, and capable. Don't give up. Keep at it. Just don't listen to the critics. There'll always be someone to criticize and try to bring you down, cause they don't want to see you step into your destiny and make it, cause THEY've seen disappointment too many times and believe that's the only way.
Guess what.
THEY are wrong.

i have worn skirts to interviews before but rarely...usually dress like you did except flat shoes...it's more about how you come across as a person rather than how you dress...business casual dress is fine for interviews...which is what you've been wearing...just keep reading mary's comment...she's got the right answer...>^,,^<
